About Wasim

He didn't just study recovery.

He lived it.

The diagnosis

A brain tumor changed everything.

Wasim El Habach was a Doctor of Physical Therapy — trained to help others recover. Then came the diagnosis that turned his world upside down: a brain tumor. Suddenly, he wasn't the clinician. He was the patient.

What followed was one of the most difficult seasons of his life. Surgery. Uncertainty. And a long, humbling road back to himself.

15 months as a patient

Center for Transitional Neurorehabilitation

One of the most intensive neurorehabilitation programs in the country.

After his surgery, Wasim spent 15 months as a patient at the Center for Transitional Neurorehabilitation (CTN) in Scottsdale, Arizona — not as a clinician observing, but as a patient fighting to rebuild his life. The CTN specializes in intensive, long-term rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injuries. Wasim experienced the full weight of that journey: the breakthroughs, the setbacks, the exhaustion, and the small victories that mean everything when you're in the middle of recovery.

That experience gave Wasim something no textbook or clinical rotation ever could: a deep, personal understanding of what it feels like to be a patient who is working hard every single day and needs a therapist who truly believes in them.

Lived experience

Aphasia: when the words won't come.

As a result of his brain tumor, Wasim experienced aphasia — the loss of the ability to speak, understand, read, and write. He knows what it feels like to have the words inside but not be able to get them out. To be fully present mentally, but unable to communicate the way you once could.

That experience fundamentally shaped the therapist he is today. Every session he leads is marked by patience, presence, and an unshakeable belief that recovery is possible — even when progress is slow, even when it's hard to see.

"

"I know what it's like to fight for every word, every step, every moment of progress. That's why I show up for my patients the way I do."

— Wasim El Habach, DPT
The mission

Why Rise Again.

Wasim founded Rise Again Physical Therapy because he knows recovery isn't just clinical — it's deeply personal. It's about identity, independence, and the belief that you can get back to the life you love. He built this practice to be the kind of care he wished he'd had: one-on-one, in your home, with a therapist who has been through the fire himself.

Cash-based, concierge PT means no insurance limitations, no rushed sessions, no divided attention. Just Wasim, your space, and a plan built entirely around your recovery.

"

"Though I have fallen, I will rise."
